Kick the Summer Off with Jimmy Buffet and an Authentic Margarita Recipe!

With Memorial Day and July 4th right around the corner, we're approaching peak Margarita season!  If you have yet to choose your flagship Margarita recipe this year, here's a suggestion for some good drinking all Summer long.

This go-around, I probably found the most authentic instructional video on Margarita making.  This Youtube video is with Hector Lopez, of Margarita's (in Punta de Mita, Mexico), mixing his famous and not-so-secret Margarita formula.

Side Note:  Okay, when I spot lime juice stored in a plastic Clamato juice bottle, I think to myself "...maybe this Margarita teaching video is a little too authentic. But what the heck, maybe this is how they do it in Mexico."

Watch, learn and enjoy...!

You can find Hector's recipe is below the videos.

  • Coarse Kosher Salt
  • 1 1/2 slice Lime
  • 2 cups ice

Notes

Note: Controy is Mexico's version of Cointreau.  This liqueur isn't widely available in the United States, so another Orange liqueur may be used as a substitute.
